JAWBONE CURVED POP UP DISPLAY IN SELFRIDGES, SUMMER 2014

Client: Genix Imaging
Commission: Aliph Ltd

AS3D input: The initial creative design was suggested by the in house team at Jawbone. Alexander Smith then took these initial sketches and worked up a feasible design in CAD for client approval. Alexander managed the technical designs, sourcing of suppliers and costings and oversaw the whole production process.

The unit consisted of a false floor under which power was chased and a curved display unit in MDF sub-construction and clad in white Corian. This finish provided the client with a much longer lasting product which, due to its design can be reused on multiple occasions as the full version or a shortened version without the fully projecting walls. The lighting was on a programmable / selectable / timed RGB circuit so the client was able to choose the exact lighting and speed of transition between colours. The two pillars contained interactive touch screens angled towards the viewer and floating, rotating product housed in the acrylic boxes on top. The main display and presentation area had a lockable tambour door storage unit below for stock and for employees to safely store their belongings and up-lit plinths for the Jambox product as well as lockable 'euro-hooks' for the hanging product.
